Memories
When I was 18, my high-school photography class went to Boeing Field in Seattle for the Concorde's visit. It was the first time the plane was on the west coast of the lower 48; I-5 was clogged with spectators. I took LOTS of film with me. At departure time, I managed to get atop a school bus at the south end of the field, set up my Fujica SLR (With a fresh 36-exposure roll inside) with tripod...and waited. After the trucks inspected the runway, the plane was cleared and from over a mile away, you could hear it roar deafeningly. As the Concorde became visible I started panning/snapping pics rapidly, the plane rotated, lifted and climbed out in a streak of dark exhaust. I couldn't hear a thing for several minutes afterwards! Anyway....the same plane is now on exhibit at the Seattle Museum of Flight where my bus was parked. Phenomenal!
