Fly Tampa's Fly Dubai

Fly Tampa did it again. They have created, quite possibly, the greatest modeled scenery for Microsoft’s Flight Simulator EVER!

I have always been a huge fan of Fly Tampa, and my love for this company was only made greater by their latest scenery.  Located in the United Arab Emirates (The U.A.E), Dubai is a wonderful city that looks like it would belong in Europe Asia or America.  The site of the worlds largest hotel, Dubai offer many amenities to both the business and pleasure traveler. With the Cities growth, a new airport has come to the drawing board. Scheduled for completion in 2006, Dubai International plans to be one of the most modern and contemporary looking airport in the world.

Split into three main terminals Dubai combines aesthetics with functionality in a wonderful way. The terminals are centrally located around two taxiways, and allow for aircraft to park all around each building. Each gate has at least two jet way’s to allow fast boarding and de-planeing of aircraft. Some gates are planed to hold the mighty Airbus 380 with a third jet way designed to reach the 380’s upper deck.

The scenery is wonderful. Each building is modeled inside and out. You can look right into the departure lounge of all three buildings and see everything from the shops to the passengers. The ground textures are simply amazing. The taxiway markings look very very real, and if your able to go with full settings, then you almost think your sitting a future Dubai, waiting to depart.

And lets not forget about General Aviation! An FBO is modeled as well complete with cars and your executive passenger waiting for their Private jet. On the opposite side of the airport is the Cargo terminal and fire department.

Static aircraft are an option that I choose to use, as Massive amount of AI traffic bog down my system.

Not only is the airport modeled however, but the City of Dubai it’s self is also enhanced wonderfully! The Worlds largest hotel a few miles from the airport is a great destination for those helicopter fans among us. The helipad 100 stories up is usable, and quite a challenge to land on!

Last, but not least, my favorite part of the scenery. It’s got very very LITTLE impact on frame rates! Compared to other pay ware scenery, FlyDubai cut my frames less then half! Even in the massively detailed PMDG 737NG’s Virtual Cockpit I was getting between 10 and 15 FPS!

Well worth the purchase, and will get you flying to the Middle East much more often then you thought you ever would! You can Visit Fly Tampa at  http://www.flytampa.com
