The Unity Security Force (USEC), opened in April 2002, has announced a major change in its training course for new pilots. USEC is to operate five BAe T-45C Goshawk aircraft, complete with a new livery, as part of its 8 week program to increase competency levels across its Maritime and AEW squadron, the UX108 “Wet Eagles”.
The training course starts with a 4-week Basic Wings course including with a week of ground school when students are expected to study the 60 page Training Manual complied by real-world military pilots at USEC over the last four years.
Colonel Dean Hall commented that the aim of the course was not only to increase the competency levels of pilots involved, but to provide a realistic and enjoyable military flavored training program.
The program is open to all prospective pilots who sign up at the site, and complete a Basic Recruit Examination online. Nominations for pilots wishing to take the course close on 21 February 2007.
