Balloons Aloft
It’s a Party! And you’re invited.
March 2007 is the official anniversary of Simulation News. Apart from our usual popular monthly event, to celebrate this anniversary, SIMnewz.com is having a “Balloon Bash”. This event will be short multiplayer balloon flights for fs2002/fs9, where participants will be able to fly hot air balloons (at the mercy of server enforced winds). There will be other flights/activities available for FSX users.
Balloons and some static scenery will be provided. Ground and Winds Aloft will be “forced” to the client/player from the server, pilots will have to ascend or descend in order to change direction and arrive at the determined location.
Group flights (approx 1hr in duration) will be conducted on the 10th and 11th of March and a short Hop-List will be available throughout the entire Month. Other group flights may be organized upon demand.
But what’s a party without presents?
There will be a screenshot competition with several categories and some great gifts/prizes to be awarded. The competition will run through the month of March. Qualifying screenshots will be published in the SimNewz.com Gallery and winners will be announced early April. Some awards may also be presented during the group flights.
A Teamspeak server will be provided for voice communications and the SimNewz chat room will be available for pilots to debrief, “chew the fat” or compare their successes or failures.
